Some people have known me for years and know about my involvement in our community and local government. Others may know me only from seeing my name on a ballot. So why run again? The short answer is that I still believe I have something to contribute. Public service did not begin with politics for me. It began more than 50 years ago, when I was looking for a meaningful way to serve others. That search led me to education, where I spent 28 years teaching and counseling. It led me into community planning, education advocacy and local government, where I became involved in projects intended to improve Daviess County. Eventually, it led me to serve as a county commissioner. But my involvement in our community did not end when my time in office ended. The decision to run again is not about starting something new. It is about continuing something that began a long time ago.
